Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’
Matthew 1:23 New Living Translation
On this glorious Christmas morning, we join believers of every Christian tradition and from all over the world to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. While there is no record to show that Jesus was born on December 25, but we have enough historical evidence and well-authenticated sources that Jesus came into our world and ministered among us.
The first coming of Jesus shows that God is actively involved with His world.
God in Christ took on our human flesh—the Incarnation—so that God can meet our human problems and struggles in a real sense, and not in a magical way.
There is nothing you will face or feel that Jesus Himself didn't face or feel. It is because Jesus experienced every part of our human experiences that we know He is truly and fully qualified to meet our human needs. It is only through a life in and with Him that the dilemma of pain and disappointment and suffering is met with the deliverance of God's grace and comfort and mercy.
Christmas is God's way of saying that He is with us and for us. This is why Jesus is called Immanuel. Knowing we have the God who is here with us, there is nothing to be afraid of. Learn from the angels, shepherds and wise men to worship the King who has overcome the world. Instead of walking in fear, walk with Jesus and you will live victoriously through Him who gives you strength to take authority over fearful thoughts and fruitless worries.
The primary reason for Jesus' incarnation is to announce and manifest the power, wisdom and glory of God. Over the past two years, we have seen how a virus changed the world and yet COVID is no match for God's grace. Every scheme and wiles of men or of the devil has already been defeated by Jesus long before the foundation of the world. While the pandemic has disrupted our lives and affected our plan, turn to God and trust God to work out all things for our good and His glory.
On behalf of the Firstlight Church and my family, we want to wish you the joy that Jesus brings to the world.
