And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.
Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV)
Have you ever reached a point where you have no feelings for God?
Mother Teresa lamented her own faith crisis in one of her letters, describing how she had gone nearly half a century without feeling God's presence in her heart. This is certainly surprising, especially given the fact that her work for the poor stemmed from her faith in God. Rather than passing judgement on her, we must learn and grow in our understanding of what it means to feel God's presence.
The truth is that even if you don't feel God, He is still present.
We can be assured of God's constant presence in our daily lives because we know He will never leave us or forsake us. The best thing to do is to keep worshipping, praying, and believing in Him. Don't think for a second that you're acting hypocritically. Being aware that you have no desire for God but still long for Him is not hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is having no desire for God but acting as if you do in order to impress others and conceal your true heart's disposition.
You don't know everything there is to know about God.
Complaining about not feeling God will make you a victim, not a victor. When the disciples were caught in a storm, they became impatient with Jesus because they were sinking while He slept. They didn't realise the Lord was in the same boat as them, but His attitude was completely different. They may not realise it, but Jesus demonstrates His love for them not by saving them from a storm, but by saving them in the storm.
When you can't see His hands or feel His heart, remember that God is faithful even when you aren't. No matter how weighed down you may be, stop focusing on the negative and instead concentrate on God's faithfulness.
