I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15:5 (NIV)
Keep your mind and heart on Jesus.
Learn to appreciate the truth and reality of your oneness in Christ.
By knowing that He is in us and that we are in Him, we can rest on His life to make us faithful and fruitful. As a branch cannot bear fruit on its own, we cannot bear fruit of His nature and character through our own willpower or strength. It is by staying connected through faith in Christ that we enjoy abundant fruitfulness and bring glory to God.
The Christian life is about living in Christ and living with Christ and living for Christ.
You are complete in Christ because His presence and power live in and through you. When you surrender to His grace and continue to receive it, He will make you a faithful and fruitful witness for His name’s sake. You can put your trust in Him to build and consecrate you as a new and living sanctuary (1 Corinthians 6:19, Romans 12:1), where His indwelling Spirit will empower you to draw others to Him
The union we have in Christ is the work of God’s amazing grace. The life of being united in Christ is a life of intimate friendship, love and communion—where we are invited to the perichoresis dance of the Trinity. It is in this divine dance of love that we discover how each of the divine persons of the Godhead is involved in our spiritual growth, maturity and progress.
The eternal and self-giving love within the relationship of the Trinity is communicated to us and experienced by us through our oneness and participation in the divine life that already dwells within us. As we receive, we give. The understanding is that we cannot have the love of God without loving Him in return, and the way we love God is to love others as He loves us.
