When they had finished praying, their meeting place shook. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak God’s word boldly.
Acts 4:31 (GW)
Prayers that are bold strike fear into the heart of the Enemy.
When religious authorities threatened the believers in Jerusalem and told them not to preach the gospel, they gathered to pray together, and the entire place shook with the presence of the Holy Spirit, and everyone began proclaiming God's word with supernatural confidence and ever-increasing boldness.
Intimidations from the devil or anybody else should not keep us from obeying or make us feel helpless and defenceless. Instead of giving up our God-given authority and power, we must stand fast and resist the devil with the certainty of victory.
Most of the time, we are unaware that the devil is more aware of what we have in Christ and what we can do through Christ than we are. So, Satan works so hard to keep us from understanding and walking in our true identity. Satan lies to us and accuses us in order to condemn us and keep us from walking in freedom, wholeness and healing.
We have been given the privilege of access to our Father God as His sons and daughters. If you believe God never hears your prayers, you are mistaken and have been duped by Satan and his deceptive way of twisting and tainting the character of God.
Bold prayers are not presumptuous.
Presumptuous prayers treat God as if he were a genie who grants wishes. Bold prayers align us with God's heart and purpose. We pray with expectation, trusting that God hears and answers perfectly because He knows His plan for us and will undoubtedly give us a future and hope.
If it is challenging for you to pray boldly on your own, gather other believers to pray with you. Don't give up even if your prayers contain a "mixture" of fear and faith. Continue to pray, and your faith will eventually overcome your fear.
Perfect prayer is not about how religious you sound, but how ready you are to trust God for the outcome. The more fully persuaded you are of God's love for you, the bolder you will be in your prayers to God.
