To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Colossians 1:27 (NKJV)
No matter how bad your day has been, it is important to remember that God is on your side. Hold on to God's goodness even when you are fearful, since the Enemy's darkness will never extinguish the marvellous light of God (who is Christ) in you.
Many Christians believe that the goal of Christianity is to become more LIKE Christ. They engage in an ongoing cycle of self-checking to ensure that they are on the right track with God. This leads to feelings of guilt, shame, and self-condemnation. The truth is that we are reconciled with God because of Christ, not because of ourselves.
Our old, sinful self is crucified alongside Christ on the Cross. God's merciful love freed us from our slavery to sin, allowing us to conform to the image and likeness of His Son. Consider these words of the Apostle Paul:
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.
Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)
"Christ living in me" is the basis of the Christian life.
Hence, it is no longer about becoming more "LIKE" Christ but "LEARNING" Christ (cf. Ephesians 4:20) regarding His life in us. You may be asking, “What is there to learn from Christ's life in me?" It is to realise how complete you are in Him, how you have everything in Him, and how you have been blessed with every blessing in Him.
The Christian life is about BEING who you are in Christ, rather than becoming less of yourself and more like Jesus. This is because you have been crucified with Christ and your life is now hidden in Him. By crucifying you with Him, Christ can reveal His enabling presence in and through you.
