I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV)

According to the Apostle Paul, instead of allowing the world to define or determine our worth, we should renew our minds and be transformed by God's good, acceptable, and perfect will. It is about learning and living the truth and reality of who we are in Christ. This enables us to offer ourselves as "living sacrifices" for God's service and work.

In the Old Covenant, people offered a dead sacrifice to God, but in the New Covenant, Christ consecrated us to God by offering Himself to Him for us through His finished work on the cross. We were dead because of our sins, but Christ made us alive in Him to become living sacrifices, both individually and corporately, through His Spirit who dwells within us.

The implication is huge.

While only a few in the Old Covenant were chosen and consecrated for God's holy purpose, but in the New Covenant, we are made holy and consecrated in Christ to do greater works and serve in His kingdom. Let nothing hinder you from living a consecrated life. As you offer yourself to God for His glory, He will certainly bless you and make you a blessing in many ways.

What is God saying to me here and what must I do?
