I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

John 6:35 (NKJV)

In the Gospel of John, Jesus uses the phrase "I AM" seven times to describe Himself and His relationship with us. In this verse, Jesus refers to Himself as "the Bread of Life." Usually, Jesus enjoys using physical objects to teach important spiritual lessons. Bread was a basic but necessary food item used frequently by Jews for physical sustenance. By comparing Himself to bread, Jesus is essentially saying that we need Him to live! When you respond to His invitation to come and believe in Him, you will live a completely satisfying life.

Feed on Jesus as the Israelites did with manna from heaven. Your Father now sustains you through His Son, just as He did in the wilderness when He fed His people heavenly food. You, like the children of Israel, can choose to reject God's provision in and through Christ and live in unbelief.

Poor feeding leads to malnutrition.

You know you are spiritually malnourished when you are worrying when you should be worshipping. You are doubting when you should be believing. You are panicking when you should be praying. Satisfy your spiritual hunger by feasting on the truth and reality of Christ’s finished work, and you will walk in all His purity and power.

What is God saying to me here and what must I do?
