Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.

Philippians 2:14-15 (NIV)

According to the Apostle Paul, we are to shine like stars in a world mired by darkness and sin. How? It is to be Christlike in all that we say and do. It is possible because His Spirit, which dwells within us, produces His attributes in us and through us. In other words, people should see Jesus in us, and in turn, desire the same love and everything else that He possesses.

Most of the time, people grumble and argue because they do not get their way. We, on the other hand, have a quiet confidence in the Lord because we know who we are and to whom we belong. There is no fear of losing out or not having enough when Jesus is our all in all, our everything. This is what the world needs.

When we carry Christ’s unsurpassed beauty and grace into our sphere of life and influence, we become the most attractive person people ever met. Attractive, not in a physical sense, but as authentic, loving, and life-giving. If people are in the dark, it is because they do not have anybody to point the way to the light and life of God. Thus, it is a delight and privilege to shine for God’s glory and bless those around you with the good news.
