Moreover, we know that to those who love God, who are called according to his plan, everything that happens fits into a pattern for good. God, in his foreknowledge, chose them to bear the family likeness of his Son, that he might be the eldest of a family of many brothers. He chose them long ago; when the time came, he called them, he made them righteous in his sight, and then lifted them to the splendour of life as his own sons.
Romans 8:28-30 (Phillips)
God does not allow things to happen just to provoke you. Rather, He let things happen for you so that He could reveal the truth about Christ's presence and power in you. As such, your prayer is not for a rescue but for a recovery of faith to overcome every obstacle through Christ. Then, you will move from asking, "Why this happening to me?" to "What is God doing in me and for me and through me because of who I am in Christ?"
When you believe in God's sovereignty, you are saying that nothing that can happen to you has the potential to disrupt God's greater redemptive plan for your life. As the Apostle Paul would say, "Nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:39.) This explains why the Bible is full of promises. These promises are given to comfort and strengthen you during your trials and tribulations. When you stand firm on these promises, you are proclaiming that God is still and always in charge—even when you believe your life is spinning out of control.
Learn to trust God.
Trust lifts you above the storms and obstacles because you are exactly where God wants you to be. When you feel stuck, God is telling you that it is time for a new understanding of His sovereignty over your life and future.
What is God saying to me here and what must I do?
