But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
Jude 1:20-21 (NASB)
According to the Apostle Jude, it is our responsibility to build ourselves up on our most holy faith, which is Christ Himself. When we build on Christ, who is the firm foundation of our faith, we can weather life's storms and triumph over all that stands against us. An active prayer life is most important and helpful in the process. It is not how much or how often we pray but remembering that who is with us when we pray.
Pray from a Trinitarian perspective.
Each person of the Trinity plays a role in our prayer. Our heavenly Father is kind and compassionate, hearing our prayers and responding in love for our good and His glory. Christ intercedes for us in heaven near the Father (Hebrews 7:25), and nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:34). The Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we don't know how to pray (Romans 8:26–27). This revelation will not only help you in your prayer life, but will also allow you to pray more effectively, passionately, and powerfully.
If your faith appears weak and you are stumbling in your Christian life, don’t feel despair but continue to press on towards God. Give Him speak to you and show you things beyond what you know or could ever imagine.
