We can be in church, but not be in Christ.
We can be informed of the gospel, but not be transformed by the gospel.
We can be busy for Christ, but not fruitful through Christ.
If our hearts are not truly rooted in Christ, much of our Christian life will be focused on what we do rather than who we are. Then we get caught up with doing stuff for God rather than doing life with God.
Considered what the Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians:
Today I am who I am because of God’s grace, and I have made sure that the grace He offered me has not been wasted. I have worked harder, longer, and smarter than all the rest; but I realize it is not me — it is God’s grace with me that has made the difference.
1 Corinthians 15:1
We are created to worship God.
Everything we do becomes an act of worship when we genuinely worship God. Worship, rather than being a chore, fulfils our call to love God, just as He loved us in Jesus Christ. Then our worship transcends from a Sunday event into a daily experience of enjoying God in all the places and spaces we are in.
In other words, doing life with God is about surrendering every part of ourselves to God where we hold nothing back. Then we will seize every opportunity to shine the life and light of God's love. So, rather than inviting people to go to church to encounter God, we are the church where people can encounter God because we bear His presence and power wherever we go. Worship leads to mission and mission leads to worship. Both enables us to doing life with God and enjoy Him every step of the way.
