And with great power, the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.

Acts 4:33 (NKJV)

What is the difference between God’s presence and God’s power?

God is always and fully present in your midst, and His power is a manifestation of that presence. The more aware you are of God's presence, the more He will manifest His power within and around you. As a result, rather than praying for more power, ask for more spiritual wisdom, insight and revelation in understanding and experiencing God's presence and activity in your life and among His people.

Because they were convinced of God's presence, the apostles were able to powerfully preach the gospel and demonstrate God's tangible power in homes, prisons, and other places. Many Christians miss the mark when they pray for a visitation of God’s presence without realising that He has already made their hearts His habitation. If they truly grasp this incredible revelation, it will transform everything—from how they live and pray to how they minister and serve others.

You are a dwelling place of God in Christ.

God is much closer than you can imagine or think, which makes a life with Him easy and light. Your prayers are no longer attempts to reach God; instead, they connect you to God's heart and what He desires for you and those who matters to Him. Then, stepping out in faith is not a scary "once-in-a-lifetime" encounter, but rather a daily experience of receiving and releasing God's power from and through His abiding presence.

God has already filled you with His fullness, so you are anointed in the same way that Jesus was. To illustrate, the Apostle Peter healed the crippled man with these words: "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk". (Acts 3:6) Like Peter, you "do have" Jesus (God's presence in you) and can "give" Jesus (from whom God's power flows out to others). Give as you have received, and you will fulfil your identity and purpose as God's son or daughter.
