If God is for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31 (NIV)

What makes God great is not that He can stop chaos or catastrophes from happening. We know He does. But what makes God even greater is His power to weave His purpose despite everything that stands against it. Many times, however, our understanding of God is so limited or obtuse that we believe God does not love us or has chosen to ignore our circumstances.

God is for us, not against us.

We fail to recognise that God uses our disappointments and delays as platforms to elevate us and bring us closer to fulfilling His purpose for us. Without the betrayal and rejection Joseph suffered, he would not have found himself in a position of influence and power. Without the loss and tragedy Ruth faced, she would have the unexpected blessing of a fresh start and new beginning. Without the pain and agony Jesus endured on the cross, He would not have overcome death through His resurrection.

Jesus tells us God is our perfect and righteous Father who knows how to bless us. It is important for us to understand that God will always stand with us and help us, even if no one else does. Don't be discouraged when those you supposed to rely on fail you. Learn to root yourself in His incredible love. Enjoy God right now, because He is with you, and always has been, and always will be.
