Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honour at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.

Hebrews 1:1-3 (NLT)

While God has spoken clearly through His kings, priests, and prophets, in His law and commandments, yet He has revealed Himself most dearly through the gospel of His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. To see the Son is to see the substance of the Father (John 12:45; 14:9) and to receive the Son is to receive the essence of the Father.

Without Jesus, we would have no knowledge or understanding of God's love and faithfulness. We will always be afraid of condemnation, judgement, and abandonment, unsure of how God will respond to us.

We are called to faith in Christ, and this calling opens us to new life and new joy without end. Jesus did not come to save us from an angry God. Rather He came to give us the right to be children of God. This right grants us access to the Father, who generously blesses us with everything in Christ. Thus, there is no fear of inadequacy, failure, or weakness since God in Christ meets us where we are instead of where we should be.

Let us rekindle our hope and confidence in God so that we might find our strength in him. Make this Christmas a time of remembering that God is for us and with us and share this good news to everyone who needs to hear it.
