For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:8-10 New International Version
Grace is the one word that reveals all of God to us.
In Christ we have a mighty Saviour—full of grace and truth so that through Him we are reconciled to God and made new through the Spirit. It is a privilege and blessing we have been given such grace that we can extend that grace to others.
We have a unique call to be grace givers in a grace-starved world. There are countless opportunities for us to proclaim and demonstrate God's grace, if we are willing to be imaginative and prayerful in seeking them out.
The Apostle Paul describes us, Christians, as God's handiwork, created perfectly in Christ for every good work. In other words, you cannot fail when you have Christ working in and through you. Though there are many lessons to be learned in our journey of faith, there is one that is the most important of all. God gives grace to the humble so that they can follow and obey Him. Don't let the fear of failure or past experiences stop you from moving forward with God. If you allow His grace to work perfectly in you, your desire for obedience to Him will rise above your fear and pain.
If you obey God perfectly, He will take your obedience and do something with it.
Sometimes, you don't see the desired outcome or fruit in the moment, but you are already accomplishing great things when you choose to obey God. Just keep giving grace to people even when they don't respond in gratitude or even try to take advantage of it. If God is in what you are doing, then you have nothing to lose and absolutely everything to gain. Jesus tells us unless a seed dies, it can bear no fruit. The more you learn to surrender yourself to God's grace, the more you are able to let go of all the pressures to earn God's acceptance and feel the incredible and liberating lightness of His grace in your life.
It is by living in the truth of this reality we have in Christ that others are drawn in to experience God's grace for themselves.
