Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Glory belongs to him both now and forever. Amen.
2 Peter 3:18 (NIV)
Grace is both amazing and empowering.
The Apostle Peter exhorts us to grow in grace. But we cannot produce grace from within ourselves. Grace is personified in Jesus Christ because we have His abundant life in us, enabling us to live free of sin and fully for God. Through His gracious act of salvation, Jesus secures our position and place with God. Jesus not only took on our sinful rags but also gave us His robe of righteousness. The two acts of grace—substitution and imputation—deliver us from the fear of legalism and insecurity.
We have everything in Christ to live a faithful and fruitful life.
The more we discover who Christ is and what He has done for us, the richer our encounters with His grace and truth. His loving and living grace reigns in and through us, making us new creations of God's righteousness. This enables us to live a blameless and holy life rather than one of sin. You will discover that grace is more than undeserved favour, kindness, or mercy. Grace leads to obedience. Here, we learn to wait and be patient while listening for opportunities to freely obey and serve God.
God is most glorified when we are satisfied with living life to the fullest in Christ.
What is God saying to me here and what must I do?
