Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with gratitude, make your requests known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will protect your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 (MEV)

Our confidence in prayer is based on God's goodness and eternal love.

It is believing that God cares about us and desires the best for our lives. God is capable of weaving everything together for our highest good, even amid life's perplexities and mysteries. Thus, it is good to learn how to pray with gratitude.

Keep yourself in the love of God and a sense of gratitude will follow.

Gratitude is the spontaneous response to being loved by God. It is intimately connected to spiritual health and well-being. According to the Apostle Paul, when we pray with a grateful heart, we will experience God's peace that transcends all understanding. This God-given peace acts as a shield that safeguards your heart and mind from fear, doubt, and discouragement.

To pray with gratitude is to be mindful that God is with us and for us.

After all, God has promised that He will not forget or forsake us. While you may not be where you want to be, but you can be thankful that God has not left you without comfort and hope. In this sense, a prayer of gratitude is thanking God in advance for anything you ask for and need. This will stir faith and inspire confidence that God will make good on His promises.

Every day, begin and end with something to thank God for, and express your gratitude loudly. You will feel a shift and a lift as you pray, fully persuaded of God's ability to fulfil His promise.
