Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.

Philippians 2:5-10 (NKJV)

Jesus’ life and leadership was marked by radical humility. It is this profound quality that makes him our perfect model and example of leading a life in service to others. Humility opens our eyes to see the needs of others and opens our hearts to receive God’s gifts and grace to help those we serve. In doing so, we imitate Christ in subordinating ourselves to God's will, and living according to His purpose.

Jesus, despite his humility, was neither weak nor powerless. Instead, of wielding His divine power in a condescending and overbearing way, He genuinely expressed His power in the form of the suffering servant of Isaiah 53. Jesus served so perfectly that He sacrificed His life on the cross to save us. We were saved and reconciled to God because of His humility and obedience. This is why God highly exalted Jesus and gave Him the name that is above every name.

The name of Jesus, according to Apostle Peter, is sufficient and more than enough for the salvation to all people (Acts 4:12). This shows that God's mercy and justice working together for our good and His glory.

The exaltation of the Father’s Beloved Son signifies Jesus’s glory in fulfilling the purpose of His coming to save humanity from sin while in the likeness of human flesh. His elevation from humility to highest honour is for our benefit and blessing. Whatever He accomplished for us, we can have hope and full assurance of faith since His saving work is complete and is fully accepted by God.
