I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
Galatians 2:21 (NKJV)
What would life be like if you genuinely believed the gospel? It will be life-changing for those who are willing to listen and obey.
God is not frustrated with us even when we are frustrated with ourselves. It is a challenging thing to accept—but it is helpful to remember that we are His beloved masterpiece, made perfect in Christ (Ephesians 2:10). As such, it is only right to release the guilt you feel for not measuring up—and to remain confident that God who began a good work of redemption in you would carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).
Spiritual frustration can lead to doing things our own way. It is like Moses hitting the rock twice when God had just told him to speak to it! It demonstrates that we are more concerned with our ability to please God than with God's grace and the working of His Spirit within us.
The opposite of frustration is satisfaction.
When you learn to focus on Jesus, you will experience true satisfaction, contentment, and fulfilment. This is always the basis and fruit of a healthy Christian life. God is satisfied with you because He is satisfied with the finished work of Jesus. God is well-pleased with you as His beloved child, just as He is pleased with Jesus as His beloved Son. That means God is not looking at you and saying, "You messed up really bad, now do something to make me happy!"
Satisfaction brings rest.
A good understanding of the gospel transforms your heart and mind, freeing you from all fear and frustration. God precisely puts you in Christ so that He does not condemn you but blesses you with every blessing (which you already possessed) through Christ. All these blessings essentially enable you to enjoy an intimate relationship with the Father and set you on a journey to enjoy the fullness of the abundant life.
What is God saying to me here and what must I do?
