So, do not worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Matthew 6:31-33 (NLT)

The gospel is counterintuitive.

God chooses to share everything He has with us, but many of us are stuck with a poverty mindset. We have this self-centred fear that by living more generously for His Kingdom, we will have less for ourselves. This is why many believers refrain from giving, serving, and sharing with others—not because they lack the capacity but because they lack the readiness to do good. They end up missing what could have been a wonderful blessing.

What worries us does not worry God.

If we are willing to surrender our security, certainty, and comfort to God, He promises to increase everything we give to Him (cf. Matthew 6:33). This is because God's economy works differently than ours. It is not mystical. It is very practical and simple. Jesus says our Father knows what we need and will provide if we ask and trust Him for everything. Hudson Taylor, the renowned missionary pioneer, famously stated, "God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply."

Do not make comfort your God; instead, make God your comfort.

Be open and ready for God to work His purpose in and through you, bringing you into new experiences of faith, favour, and freedom.
