This is my work, and I can do it only because Christ’s mighty energy is at work within me.
Colossians 1:29 (TLB)
If you think God cannot use you because you are not like somebody else, you are struggling with your identity in Christ. This is because you are coveting their calling, gifts and skills and not believing God has given your abilities that He has not given to anyone else. Then it is easy to quit, give up and walk away offended when you feel God has let you down by not giving you what you need to succeed.
God produces originals, not photocopies.
You are a true masterpiece in Christ, and not an imitation. When you learn to lean on the Holy Spirit for the grace and strength to do all things in Christ, you will thrive and prosper in whatever circumstances.
The power of Christ that works in the Apostle Paul is the same power that works in you. If you are still praying for more power or more anointing, you are not appreciating what you already have in Christ. That kind of prayer is not a prayer of faith but a prayer of unbelief. There is no need to ask or wait for more power—because Christ who is in you is more than enough to meet your every need according to His limitless power.
In Acts 19:11, Luke tells us that God was doing extraordinary and unusual miracles by the hands of Paul. They happened because Paul was ready and willing to do the Lord's work. Obedience is the key to God working in you and through you. It is not more power, but more obedience that we experience the grace of God in a powerful way.
When you have the audacity to place your faith in what the gospel reveals about you, you free yourself from an inferiority complex and a disproportionate feeling of inadequacy. You will be less likely to say no when God asked you to do something difficult and perhaps a little scary. After all, when you do not rest on God's grace working mightily through you, the pace and pressure of life and ministry will overwhelm you.
Learn to enjoy God every day and experience the joy of trusting Him.
