"Let us look only to Jesus, the One who began our faith and who makes it perfect. He suffered death on the cross. But he accepted the shame as if it were nothing because of the joy that God put before him. And now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne."
Hebrews 12:2 (NCV)
Some people think faith is difficult because they are limiting themselves to what God can do. The real problem is not faith—but rather it is not believing how much God loves you and how much God accepts you. This hinders you from receiving and living an authentic life of faith in Christ. The truth is you already have all the faith you will ever need on the day you were born again.
When God gives you this gift of faith by grace, it is as perfect and complete as the faith of Jesus. You just need to renew your mind by believing the gospel truth and release faith into your life's circumstances and situations.
Sometimes, we put too much effort to have faith for this or that—when we should really rest our faith fully in the Person of Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul tells us that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. Our Lord endured the shame of the cross so that we can enjoy the victory of the cross. This is to say it is Jesus' faithful work in us that produces the righteousness God requires. As such, it is not our faith (because faith is a gift from God) that justifies us but rather the faith of Jesus in us which justifies us.
God provided everything for our salvation, and He requires nothing of us except to rest completely in the full and finished work of His Son. So instead of trying to fix your "faith", just fix your eyes on Jesus and faith will rise within you.
