For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
2 Corinthians 13:18
Truth is a rare commodity these days especially we are living in a world of sound bites and biased opinion pieces. It is particularly important for us to stand on the truth of the gospel even if the tides continue to shift against it.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians about how they have acted and behaved and how he will not change or alter his preaching of the gospel, just so to please them or accommodate them.
In following and serving Jesus, both Paul and his companions have been serving Him truthfully and sincerely, whether it fits the cultural norms or political dynamics of others. While they endeavour to reach the lost by all means possible, they will not do anything that is contrary to the truth.
Unfortunately, within the body of Christ, we are at a point where the truth of the gospel has been compromised for the sake of unfettered inclusivity that neither involves nor results in setting people free from their sin and bondages. If the gospel does not lead to obedience of faith, it is not the gospel at all.
While we should not present the gospel in an offensive manner, we need to be mindful that the truth of the gospel is already offensive to those who oppose God and reject Him. Do not be fazed by their actions. Instead pray for God to soften their hearts and open a door for you to reach them.
Speak the truth in love and show love regardless of the outcome or what anyone thinks.
If we care deeply for others to find the joy and peace that only Christ can offer, it is good to learn how to present the truth clearly and compellingly. Remember, proclaiming the gospel is more than what you say and do, but it is also how you treat others and love others.
