For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
Ephesians 1:15-17 (NIV)
Did you notice how the Apostle Paul unceasingly gave thanks to God the Father when he saw the Ephesians' evidence of faith in their spiritual life and service? In his prayers for them, Paul kept asking God to bless the Ephesians with such incredible spiritual wisdom and revelation so that their relationship with God would grow with greater intimacy, freedom, and confidence.
Having the Spirit-filled ability to see the accomplishments of the finished work of Christ will cause you to walk in authority and power so to continually experience breakthroughs in every aspect of your life.
A breakthrough is a new advancement.
You are a victor in Christ. Even when your circumstances appear dismal and hopeless, remind yourself that you are God's beloved child. Remember you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you. This fight is always waged from a winning position — because you are fighting your battles with the victory Christ has won for you.
Without the revelations from the Lord, Paul would not have had the wisdom or knowledge to fight the good fight of faith. Though he was imprisoned, he was flourishing in faith and in joy. Despite painful persecutions, bitter rejection and vile betrayal, Paul remains steadfast in faith. In his second letter to Timothy, Paul testified, "The Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom" (2 Timothy 4:18).
When you feel most defeated, living a gospel-centered life can bring you victory and deliverance. Learn to recite Paul's prayer, asking our Father God to provide us with wisdom and revelation so that our lives in Christ remain fresh, vibrant, and strong.
