For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again.
Proverbs 24:16 (NKJV)
Proverbs warn against causing harm to those who are right with God. Their nasty efforts will never succeed against those who have God on their side. No matter how many times they try to defeat them, the righteous are never defeated.
Righteousness is God's "recovery system" to help you in starting over.
Don't underestimate the significance of being God's righteousness in Christ. Because His righteousness in you provides the foundation for a healthy sense of self. Your successes and failures do not define you. Who you are in Christ defines you. His grace allows you to face failures without fear, so let go and be free to thrive in the face of adversity.
Nobody likes defeat. When defeat overwhelms you, the easiest thing to do is to give up. If you quit too easily, it will only make the next time easier. For those who want to seize their God-given destiny, quitting is not an option. Quitting turns you into a victim. The polar opposite of a victim is a victor, which you are already in Christ!
Don't accept anything less. Get back up after being knocked down. The best thing to do is to get back up and try again. Place your trust in God, who provides you with the courage and confidence to walk forward with faith.
To walk by faith does not imply that you seek a bailout from God every time things get tough. When you reduce faith to simply receiving a rescue, you will be disappointed if you believe God does not care enough to show up and save you. To walk by faith is to trust God for His faithfulness regardless of what you are going through right now.
Learn to take courage because you are not facing life's difficulties alone. God is present with you. And He will see you through the difficult times and bring you out stronger and more resilient than before.
