For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Esther 4:14 (NKJV)

We all have a comfort zone. And so often, we let our comfort zone get in the way of God’s gracious plan for our lives. It is easier to stay in our little world than for God to expand our worldview in ways we never imagined. We must remember that the Christian life is living for God's glory rather than for our own.

The story of Esther is a great example of stepping outside of one's comfort zone and into faith. You may not see the full picture of your life, but you can trust God since He has seen everything from the beginning to the end.

What does faith look like outside of your comfort zone?

It enables you to encounter God's empowering presence and divine guidance in new ways. Certainty in your comfort zone is the enemy of faith because it leads to indifference, missed opportunities, and, worse, disobedience. While stepping into the unknown can be fearful, but when we are called to His purpose, God is able to work everything out for your good and His glory.

Stepping out your comfort zone leads to personal growth and self-discovery.

Once we discover there is no reason to fear because of God’s perfect love towards us (cf. 1 John 4:18), we can embrace new lessons of grace and obedience along the way. Each step of faith leads to a deeper relationship with God and better alignment with His purpose, ultimately leading to an authentic life in Christ.
