No one can pride himself upon earning the love of God. The fact is that what we are we owe to the hand of God upon us. We are born afresh in Christ and born to do those good deeds which God planned for us to do.

Ephesians 2:8-10 (Phillips)

We are God’s workmanship in that He created us and loves us.

As we learn to live the life God has given us in Christ, we will come to understand His heart and we will make it our life's purpose to please Him. What we do to please God is less important than why we do it. We desire to please the Father and do His will, just as Christ did because we are aware that we were made to fulfil His purpose and bring Him glory. Thus, pleasing God is more about our attitude and desire than it is about our actions.

Worship comes first before mission.

Life with God takes precedence over life for God. It is possible to serve God without knowing and understanding Him. Then everything we do is self-serving and comes from a flawed idea that what we do for God is more important than who we are for God.

Worship empowers us to serve God well and pleasingly.

If our actions are motivated by trying to live up to God's expectations and standards, it is simple to stray into a relationship with God that is performance-based and result-driven. Then our hearts will grow weary and weighed down with feelings of disappointment and failure. However, if we respond to who God has made us in Christ and serve as sons and daughters, the amazing working of the Holy Spirit in us will enable us to carry out good deeds and great works that we could never do in our own strength. In doing so, we overcome the fear of not doing enough or being enough for God.

God wants us to reflect Christ in all respects—in character, thinking, and attitude. Trust in God's ability and power to complete the good work He started in you. God will produce in you and through you the same kind of works that Jesus would do.
